The Kat Von D Birthday Bash with Bam Margera was at the height of her career with LA Ink. The event asked us to create a guitar that carried the theme of her book that was just released on the same day.
We burned the top of the guitar and cleaned it with a wire brush, then carved a photo frame similar to the one on the book cover. Inside the frame of broken glass is her photograph. The edge of the guitar is bound like a vintage hardback cover, bordered with Red Leather and sewn together to create a remarkable piece of art.
Other nuances of her personality show if you look closely at the instrument. The back has plaques describing the event.
